Games

The NQ Games is all about coming together as a community and celebrating/participating (may for the first time) in a sport or chosen recreation avenue. We try to keep the fees significantly lower than any other multi-sport event across the country to allow families to participate without breaking the budget.

NQ Games Fee

Every 'athlete' or 'participant' pays an NQ Games Fee to register, $39.

With registration, the first 3000 athletes are entitled to a registration pack - a North Queensland Games backpack and athletic cap - as part of our early bird offer

The NQ Games Fee allows us to pay for sports place medals, prize monies, venue hire, marketing and other costs associated with running the events.

Sports Fees

Some of the sports charge an additional sports fee - this is 100% determined by the sport and funds completely go to the organising sports club or body. These fees typically cover the bare necessities for volunteers, maybe referees or insurance for some of the larger sports. The sports fees for a National Championship being held in the NQ Games are typically higher that a local competition (ie. might be $85 vs $10).

Registration

When registering through our online portal, your final total will be subject to a 1.49% transaction fee from PlayHQ. We cover your license fee with PlayHQ.

Merchandise

You'll be able to purchase official NQ Games merchandise from our supplier during your registration, at any time from the online shop after launch, or on-site during the Games in April/May 2026.
