Fee
 NQ the Games Fees $33 (Inc GST) +

Show jumping nomination fee is charged per event, the fee ranges from $8 to $12 depending on the event you are entering and a Compulsory First Aid Fee $15 per day is payable by all riders

Optional fees:

  • Camping at the Malanda Showgrounds on powered or non-powered sites is available. Please contact the sports host to arrange this.
  • Stabling for horses at the Cairns Showgrounds. Please contact the sports host to arrange this.

Sports Notes

  • A copy of the Program can be downloaded here.
  • Pre-nomination for all competitions is online via the North Queensland Games site.
  • The Event will be run under Equestrian Australia’s 2024 National Show Jumping Rules. It is the Rider’s responsibility to be aware of and comply with the 2024 National Show Jumping Rules and they will not be repeated in this Program Scratching’s after the close of nominations may be refunded by arrangement with the Organising Committee (OC).
  • All riders must fill in the Show Jumping Waiver Form please download and email to mshorsesteward@gmail.com
  • No electric fences are permitted
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times
  • Compulsory First Aid $15 per day/ per rider must be paid. Please select the days you are competing at the time a paying this registration
  • All requirements set by the Malanda Showgrounds must be adhered to
  • Fines imposed by the Malanda Showgrounds will be passed on to those who do not comply with the requirements of the Malanda Showgrounds
  • Horse Health Declarations (HHD) must be provided upon arrival. Riders will not be allowed to compete until the HHD is submitted; please download and email to mshorsesteward@gamail.com
  • The Organising Committee reserves the right at its absolute discretion to alter or amend any of the competitions, conditions, regulations, or any aspect of the Event as it sees fit or cancel the Event due to unforeseen circumstances or inclement weather.
  • All riders to be dressed according to the EA requirements and those attired incorrectly will not be eligible to compete and will ride HC. A ratcatcher or collared shirt with tie must be worn. No coloured jodhpurs are allowed – white, cream or beige only. Jackets are required for Championship classes on Sunday.
  • EA helmet standards will apply – EA tagged helmets are compulsory. All riders must wear riding boots and an approved helmet while mounted.
  • Two starts per horse on Saturday plus one Six Bar start
  • One start per horse on Sunday
  • Riders and horses entering competitions with heights 105cm and over are required to hold a current Competitive Rider EA Membership and Full Life Registration for the horse
  • Jumping Licences must be shown to the Judge prior to competing. Failure to show your licence will result in the forfeiture of your nomination
  • Nominations close, 2359pm on Thursday the 2nd of May 2024
  • Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3 place with ribbons for 4th and 5th place (Art 238/273)
  • Ribbons to 5th place (Art 262)
  • Only nomination fees, stable and camping fees may be refunded.
  • The First Aid and the North Queensland Games Fee are not refundable
  • Your assistance to pick up rails and pack up at the end of the weekend is greatly appreciated

Competition Descriptions

  • Art 238.2.2 – One Round with a Jump Off

This is a Competition against the clock, but in the event of equality of Penalties for first place, there will be one jump-off against the clock. Other Athletes are placed according to their Penalties and time in the first round.

  • Art 238.2.1 – One Round Against the Clock

Athletes with equality of Penalties for any place are placed in accordance with the time taken to compete the round.   In the event of equality for Penalties and time for first place, there may be a jump-off over a shortened course over obstacles, which may be increased in height and/or spread in accordance with the provisions of the Schedule.

  • Art 273 2.2.2 (ii) 3.3.1 4.3 – Competition Over Two Rounds – Championship Classes

1. This Competition comprises, with the same speed, two courses, identical or different, either in track or in number of obstacles or in the dimensions of the obstacles. Each Athlete must participate with the same Horse. Athletes, who have been eliminated or who have retired during the first round, may not take part in the second round, and may not be placed.

2. All the Athletes have to take part in the first round. The following go forward to the second round according to the conditions of the Schedule:

2.2  A limited number of Athletes (either a percentage or a set number of Athletes, in any case at least 25%) return for the second round in accordance with their placing in the first round (Penalties and time).

2.2.2 (ii)  The first round will be against the clock. At least 25% or a minimum of 5 Athletes, return for the second round based on their penalties and time in the first round; in any case all Athletes without penalties in the first round, return for the second round.

3.  The  manner of judging this Competition will be in accordance with the following formula:

4.3  The classification will  be  established according to aggregate penalties over both rounds and time incurred in the second round. Classification of Athletes not qualified for the second round will be according to the Penalties and time in the first round.
