The North Queensland Games celebrates its 40th year in 2024, it will host over 30 sports in Cairns and welcomes athletes of all ages to attend. The NQ Games offers a diverse, unique and dynamic event for athletes of all abilities, at all competition levels to celebrate and compete in their chosen sports. Competitions will be held from Friday 3 May to Monday 6 May 2024 at a variety of sporting venues across Cairns.
A free community event will be held on Friday 3 May 2024 as we officially open the NQ Games. The Opening Ceremony will include a competitors and officials march past, opening celebrations and fun family-friendly events, Games ambassadors Scooter (Grant Patterson), Libby Cook-Black and Leah Howie will be in attendance and will lead the anticipated lightening of the Origin Energy Cauldron.
This event will bring North Queensland locals together in celebration of sports and our active lifestyles.
