Equestrian welcomes competitors of all levels to test themselves in a professionally delivered competition while experiencing the energy, community spirit, and legacy atmosphere of the North Queensland Games. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or representing your club, this is your chance to compete, connect, and celebrate sport with athletes from across the region - register now to secure your place.

Note: There are three different programs that each have their own registration link. Please see the yellow buttons on the left. You will only need top register on the Play HQ  Portal once, then use the Nominate links to choose your events. 

Register Pony Club = Official Dressage & Combined Training

Register Interschool = Interschool Dressage Qualifier 

Register EA Dressage = EA Dressage (Open to all)

 

Key Information:

To participate in NQ Games for Equestrian, you will need to register on the NQ Games Registration Portal (Play HQ) and the Mackay and District Hack and Pony Club Registration Portal. 

Included in the fee is:

  • Free North Queensland Games Athletic Cap and Bag for first 3000 registrations.

Registrations will CLOSE on Monday 27/04/2026 for EA Dressage and Interschool Dressage.

Registrations will CLOSE online on Wednesday 29/04/2026 for PCQ Dressage and Combined Training however, nominations may be taken up to the morning of the event prior to 8am.

 

Competition Details:

  • This Equestrian competition will feature 51 classes in total across all 4 event programs. 
  • To compete in the Official Dressage & Combined Training you MUST be a member of a Pony Club.
  • The Interschool competition and EA Dressage is open to all competitors.

Programs & Timetable

Programs Information

  • Official Dressage – run under Pony Club Queensland rules. This event is a state qualifying events and participants will need to be a pony club member to compete.
  • Official Combined Training – run under Pony Club Queensland rules. This event is a state qualifying events and participants will need to be a pony club member to compete.
  • Interschool Queensland Dressage – participant will need to be registered with their school to compete.
  • EA Dressage – Anyone can participate in this event even if they are not a member of an equestrian club as Mackay and District Hack and Pony Club offer a day membership with this event. This event has 4 different classes to allow people that have never done anything participate. See below:
    • Class 1 - Assisted
    • Class 2 - Walk & Trot
    • Class 3 - Walk & Trot
    • Class 4 - Cantering

Fees

All participants across the North Queensland Games incur a $39 Games Fee - with the first 3000 registrants receiving a registration pack with a free bag and North Queensland Games cap.

Mackay and District Hack and Pony Club charges $35 per horse and rider combination per class, per event to cover the costs associated with running the event.
