Fun Run

Join us on Saturday 30th April 2022 for the Festival of Athletics FUN RUN
Bring your whole squad/family along or simply come and run in this exciting, fun, and entertaining festival run. Distances available for all running (and walking) abilities.
With an awesome on-course entertainment and cultural markets at the finish line, there is plenty to enjoy for the whole community. Stay around to enjoy the food, sports entertainment and heaps of fantastic activations from our partners.

Run, walk, roll or stroll your way through are fun courses while enjoying a range of on-course entertainment.

All age groups will be based on your age as the 31 December 2022.

9km RUN 

• Saturday 30th April 2022
• Start Time 7:00am
• Arrival Time 6:00 – 6:30 am (we suggest all participants arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before the start time)
• Minimum Age 11 Years (participants below this age can complete but need to be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian)
• Sports Fee – $15 per athlete

9km RELAY RUN (3 runners per team)

• Saturday 30th April 2022
• Start Time 7:10am
• Arrival Time 6:00 – 6:30 am (we suggest all participants arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before the start time)
• Minimum Age No age restriction
• Sports Fee – $30 per team

5km RUN

• Saturday 30th April 2022
• Start Time 7:30 am
• Arrival Time 6:30 – 7:00 am (we suggest all participants arrive a minimum of 30 minutes before the start time)
• Minimum Age 11 Years (participants below this age can complete but need to be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian)
• Sports Fee – $15 per athlete

Entry Fee Includes:
• Race bib
• Entry into your nominated run
• Finisher’s medal
• Basic first aid service at the event
• A fun, safe and professional activity
• Public liability insurance

On the day, participants can access the start line area by going through the main entrance of the Townsville Sports Reserve (Burke Street). By the Start Zone – Fun Run, a registration desk will be set up where you can check-in and collect your bib number.

Registration for this event closes at Fri 29 Apr 2022 

After completing the NQ Games registration and payment of $20 participants must proceed to ANQ to complete their entry & pay ANQ sports fees (link will be supplied in registration confirmation email).

Course Map 

The courses are located around the Townsville Sports Reserve and are ranked as easy runs (little to no hills). Athletes in the 9km relay run who run legs 2 and 3 will be placed at different locations on the course – ready to run once their team member arrives.

The 9km run will do 2 laps of the 5km course
