Emily has been bowling for 4 years and represents Townsville and NQ in Tenpin Bowling. Emily placed 2nd in the 2021 U14 Australian Masters, this would be her highlight to date.

What event will you be participating at the NQ Games?

The event I will be completing in the 2022 NQ Games is Tenpin Bowling.

Have you ever competed in an NQ Games before?

I haven’t competed in any previous NQ games.

How important is it for you to have local competition like this event?

It’s great that all sports can be involved and held at the same time. The Tenpin Bowling event involves people of all ages and ability. To hold a local all-inclusive sport that has enough numbers to create a great event, is pretty unique.

What’s your best piece of advice for athletes in your sport?

For younger bowlers I would recommend to practise your spares and attend regular training. Be committed to your sport and learn as much as you can.

Who has inspired you the most in your sport?

Daria Pajak from Poland. Her ability and attitude towards her sport has been something that I aspire to achieve. She shows great control and mental strength in her game. I enjoying watching women in my sport.

What part of North Queensland are you from?

Townsville, North Queensland.

What’s your favourite thing to do in Townsville?

Other than bowling. I enjoy fishing, swimming at Rollingstone, eating ice cream on The Strand and Otto’s.

How did you start/get into this sport?

I attended a junior sign on day and then joined a league.

How long have you been playing/competing in this sport?

5 years

What are your sporting career goals?

To bowl a 300 and represent Australia.

Are you competing in a few sports at the games?

No, just Tenpin Bowling.

The NQ games are a great event to meet and socialise with other athletes, have you made new friends through sport?

Yes, I have made lots of new friends along the way from all over the country while competing at the Australian Championships and Masters in Tasmania. It’s nice to have these connections and friendships
