I also enjoy bushwalking canyoning. I competed at World Rogaining Championship Alice Springs 2016, Australian Rogaining Championship Flinders Ranges 2012 and Cairns 2013. Adventure Racing World Championship Tasmania 2011 and Shoalhaven 2016.
I have participated in ultra-marathons up to 100km distance in Australia, New Zealand and France.
Orienteering
Orienteering is a relatively small sport in Townsville, so to have a major event like this here is awesome. I think it’ll really raise the profile of my sport
Practice. To improve you really need to keep at it and you can’t rest on your laurels, If you don’t keep practicing your navigation skills you’ll lose your edge. You can’t just work on your fitness/running, the fastest runner can still come last in orienteering.
Hanny Allston (from Tasmania) won the junior world championship in 2006. She’s also a champion ultra-marathoner/trail runner

What are your sporting career goals? To continue to be able to run ultra-marathons into my 60’s (I’m currently in my 50’s and have started to slow down, unfortunately)
Yes, so many! Almost all of my friends are through sport.
